Ice cold. Cash. (and more! Updates as of Monday)

We’ve had our merry band of volunteers and friends out at the Houston County farm Center the past couple of days working on many things. The first being marking out the vendors spaces and sponsor spaces. We have that complete, and realized that we have 5 more vendor spaces available. 2 have electric if you need a plug. We had thought we were out of room, but thanks to the positioning of a tent, we were able to squeeze in 50′ more of vendors. If you would like a space to sell product or give out information about your business, please call AMY at (334) 699-1475 or PAT at (334) 699-1475. You need to call very quickly so we can get your vendor information mailed back out to you so that you can receive it in time.

Next up on our list of recent accomplishments ATM MACHINES! We managed to secure three ATM’s for the event, and they will be located inside the gate both Friday and Saturday. The first one is right inside the main entrance, the other two are located in the two beer tents located on the lower level. (The tavern tent and the beer tent near the main stage.) So, that’s the CASH part of tonight’s post.

We also have an ice vendor setting up both Friday and Saturday. The Ice Man commeth around mid-day on Friday, and will have 20# bags of ice for sale to vendors, teams and anyone who needs ice! This is a great convenience to teams and food vendors at the event.

Cold Beer. (I just wanted to throw that in there! ) We’ll have the big 16 ounce aluminum bottles of Coors Light and Miller Lite available for $3.50 each. There will also be 16 oz draft Blue Moon beers (with an orange) available for $4.25. One of the vendors, a potter named Lyn Koning is making beer mugs which will be for sale both Friday and Saturday (until supplies run out.) You can purchase a “drowned leprechaun” mug for $12 and get 16 oz refills in it all night for just $3 each. The drowned leprechaun is a cute mug with a whimsical message that you’ll really want to see to appreciate!

The tents are going up, the carnival has started to pull in their attractions, the stage people have met to determine exact placement … and that was all today!

If you need to come by The Main Event’s office for any reason (band passes, tickets, volunteer sign up, etc.) please call first as we may be out at the Farm Center getting ready for all the fun this weekend. (334) 699-1475

I don’t know why the title got funky. “ore-a Monday?” It’s not Ore-Ida anything!
